Bathing in the lake
Swimming in the lake is one of those essential experiences of a holiday on Lake Lugano.
Its crystal clear waters invite you to dive to find refreshment from the summer heat, and you can do it directly here in the hotel, or ... let's find out where!
In Ticino, the water flows in clear streams and large rivers that flow not only into the great lakes, the Maggiore and Lugano, but also into the many mountain lakes. The waters are clear and allow you to enjoy their coolness during the hot summer days!
The waters are constantly monitored by the Environmental Observatory of Southern Switzerland (OASI), which attests in real time to the excellent quality of our waters.
But where to go swimming?
The closest access for those staying at the Tresa Bay is right at the hotel! passing through our relaxing pool you can access the small sun terrace on the lake, from which you can then go into the water! In your room you will find comfortable bathrobes at your arrival and at the reception we will gladly provide you with extra towels for the pool and lake. Access to the lake is free in July and August, while in other periods ask the reception before entering!
If you want to enjoy a day on the beach, here are some proposals we have for you!
LIDO OF CASLANO
A little more than a kilometer from Tresa Bay, lies Caslano, a characteristic village overlooking the lake with a beautiful square on the lake, also ideal for an ice cream or an evening walk. Adjacent is the beach, small but nice, with an excellent bar for cocktails and snacks with barbecue and events.
LIDO DI LUGANO
A favourite spot for city dwellers, it offers plenty of space for sunbathing, as well as a swimming pool with trampoline, a leisure pool, a children's pool, a restaurant and a bar.
Insider Tip:
LIDO SAN DOMENICO
This small beach, mostly ignored by tourists, is an oasis of tranquility away from the city.
Our advice? The Lido is located at the beginning of the path that leads to Gandria.
We therefore recommend a morning walk to Gandria starting from Lugano, perhaps passing through the Sentiero degli Ulivi. Stop for lunch in the village in one of the characteristic taverns.
Return to the path and then stop in the afternoon at Lido San Domenico to cool off!
