Camelia Park

The Camellia Park in Locarno is a wonderful attraction that enchants visitors with its beauty and tranquillity. Situated in a picturesque location, this park boasts a large collection of camellias of various species and colours, which bloom during springtime, providing a breathtaking spectacle for visitors.

To date, with work almost completed, the park is home to 1100 named varieties of camellias, including around forty species and a dozen fragrant hybrids. In addition, there are 70 camellias yet to be identified and, on the southern edge of the public bath, 130 double camellias have been planted to create a dividing hedge and provide cut flowers for the annual display in spring. The park is scenically laid out with flowerbeds forming a labyrinth-like path, inviting visitors to lose themselves in the wonders of nature, the singing of birds and the soothing sound of the lake’s waves.

The prestigious Ticino exhibition, the Esposizione Camelie Locarno, will take place this year for the 25th time from 20 to 24 March 2024 at the Parco delle Camelie in Locarno. This careful exhibition presents more than 200 varieties of camellias.

To reach the Camellia Park from the Tresa Bay Hotel, you can use public transport that will take you comfortably to your destination at no extra cost. Once you arrive, you can stroll along the well-kept paths, admire the beautiful camellias in bloom and enjoy the peace and serenity that this magical place offers.
